In early 2016 the turret bearing on the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah operating in the Jubilee field offshore Ghana failed preventing the FPSO from weather vanning.
It was quickly determined that the FPSO would need to become spread moored however to install a traditional deck mounted chain tension system would not be possible due to a lack of crane capacity onboard. Modec, the main contractor, was looking for a means of both connecting and tensioning 8 new mooring lines on the bow of the FPSO
Flintstone presented a solution using our pull through connector and an in-line tensioner. This removes the need for onboard craneage.
Flintstone provided both the deck mounted foundation blocks (port and starboard with integrated pull through connectors and in line tensioners.
